Mr. Alexander Tait

Mr. Alexander “Alex” Tait is the Geographer at the National Geographic Society. He provides National Geographic with geographic and mapping expertise for publications and major research initiatives, such as the “Last Wild Places” and “Life at the Extremes” programs. Mr. Tait served as the Vice President of the International Mapping Associates in Ellicott City, Maryland, where he provided technical expertise for international land and maritime boundary dispute cases before world courts. He also worked as a cartographer at The Washington Post and as a Lecturer in Geography at the University of Maryland. He has a B.A. in Geography from Dartmouth College and an M.S. in Geography from the University of Wisconsin.
