Dr. Antoinette WinklerPrins

Dr. Antoinette WinklerPrins is a permanent Program Director of the Geography and Spatial Sciences Program at the United States National Science Foundation. She is also an adjunct professor in the Environmental Sciences and Policy Program at the Johns Hopkins University Krieger School of Arts and Sciences Advanced Academic Programs. She was a faculty member of the Department of Geography at Michigan State University for 13 years. Dr. WinklerPrins, who is originally from the Netherlands, has lived and worked in numerous places worldwide. She was trained as a people-environment geographer, and her research focus has been on agricultural livelihoods and soils, environmental knowledge, and urban agriculture, especially in tropical locations. Dr. WinklerPrins has published in various outlets and continues to conduct research with projects in Mexico and the Brazilian Amazon.
